Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been friends for nearly 20 years and been in a relationship for 15. The couple started dating in 2004 and tied the knot four years later. Ellen and Portia have weathered several controversies since they sparked romance rumors. However, malicious reports and speculations continue to plague their marriage up to this writing.

Recently, reports are claiming that Ellen and Portia have been fighting again because of Jennifer Aniston. The rumors stemmed after the American television host and “Friends” actress smooched in an episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in October. The former partner of Justin Theroux asked Ellen about her recent on-air kiss with Howard Stern, which led to a kiss between the two longtime pals.

National Enquirer claimed that Ellen DeGeneres became “smitten” with Jennifer after their epic on-air kiss. It even claimed that the host could not stop “gushing” about the actress and the idea did not sit well with Portia de Rossi.

Portia was, allegedly, furious after learning about Ellen’s feelings for Jennifer Aniston. “This is a big issue for Portia, and you have to wonder how much more controversy the marriage can take,” an insider told the publication. “It wouldn’t surprise anyone if Portia leaves Ellen for good.” This, then, reignited divorce rumors between the couple.

However, aside from the fact that National Enquirer has been known for making stories based on the accounts of its phony sources, it is very unlikely for Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi to divorce as they appear to be very happy with each other lately. In fact, Ellen acknowledged that Portia is “the greatest gift-giver of all time.” To recall, during the host’s 60th birthday, Portia gave Ellen a permanent gorilla home in Rwanda built in her namesake. The home is, reportedly, for Digit Fund, which is a charity for the protection of endangered mountain gorillas, and it is now being called the Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund.

In October, Ellen DeGeneres gifted Portia de Rossi a Kris Jenner-inspired silver Lamborghini. The host even revealed that her wife has been “obsessed” with the said car for quite some time now.

With all the talks about divorce, Portia de Rossi addressed the split rumors in an interview with Us Weekly in June 2018. “The divorce rumors came and then we really knew the perceptions had changed,” Ellen DeGeneres’s wife said. “I’m not kidding. I know it sounds ridiculous, but when that started happening I thought, ‘Oh, now we’re finally accepted.’ We get the same sh*t as every celebrity couple,” she added.
