“Kevin Can Wait” alum Erinn Hayes just landed a new role in Amazon’s comedy, “The Dangerous Book for Boys.”

Hayes, who was let go by CBS from “Kevin Can Wait” Season 2, will play the role of Beth in the six-episode series. “The Dangerous Book for Boys” also stars Chris Diamantopoulos as twin brothers Patrick and Uncle Terry, according to Deadline.

“The Dangerous Book for Boys” will follow the life of a young boy named Wyatt and his siblings who are all dealing with the death of their father, Patrick. Before his demise, Patrick wrote a guidebook for his boys in the hopes of encouraging them to live full and adventurous lives. The guidebook inspired Wyatt to imagine a world where his dad is still alive so he could pretend that Patrick helps him with his daily life struggles. Hayes’ character, Beth, is Wyatt’s mom and Patrick’s widow. She will also struggle to maintain a steady composure following her husband’s death.

“The Dangerous Book for Boys” was created by “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston for Amazon, and it will be directed by “Superbad’s” Greg Mottola, according to TV Line.

Meanwhile, Hayes announced her departure from “Kevin Can Wait” after only one season via her Twitter account last month. According to the actress, she was let go by the people behind the sitcom. Hayes also expressed her sadness over their decision and said that she had a wonderful time working with her co-stars on set.

According to TV Line, “Keving Can Wait” Season 2 will head to a different creative direction that will be focused more on Kevin’s (Kevin James) life at the workplace instead of his home. This is also the reason why Hayes’ character, Donna, will be written out of the series.

Prior to Hayes’ exit, CBS announced that Leah Remini has been tapped as a series regular for Season 2. Her character, Vanessa, was first seen in the finale episode for “Kevin Can Wait” Season 1.

“Kevin Can Wait” Season 2 will premiere on CBS on Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. EST.
