Eva Mendes finally took the plunge and shared her first-ever selfie with the world -- not only to show her smile, but to help raise funds for Andrew Wilson, a toddler who has cancer. The 41-year-old actress took to Instagram on Thursday to post the selfie. The picture shows the actress wearing a T-shirt that reads, “Hope and Prayers for Andrew Wilson.”

She captioned the photo: “This is my first selfie and it's for an amazing cause! Thank you all so much for helping support Andrew Wilson and his family. Please, please donate -- any bit helps! ... Together let's help this family get their son the proper treatment that he needs.”

The cause is close to Mendes’ heart: Her brother Carlos is also battling the disease, reports People. The "Lost River" actress urged people to donate, promising to sign off the shirt she was wearing and give it to a person who donates to Andrew’s Fund within 48 hours of her post.

Mendes also shared a photo of Andrew, writing how the boy is full of smiles and is very special to her, states E! News. The actress also explained that Andrew has been undergoing treatment for neuroblastoma. She adds, “His family has spent the last year going through every parent's worst nightmare as they watch their little boy endure grueling treatment and they need our help. Please consider making a donation. ... From the bottom of my heart, I thank you in advance for your support of this precious little boy and his family."
