It seems “Lego Dimensions” will have fans exploring a multiverse of franchises, as Warner Bros. announced new open-world levels for the game called “Adventure Worlds.” These levels can be unlocked by playing the game’s main story mode, all of which will be based on franchises that are set to appear in “Lego Dimensions,” like Springfield from “The Simpsons” or Gotham City from the “Batman” comics.

Gotham City is actually one of the first Adventure Worlds available, along with Middle Earth and every area seen in “The Lego Movie,” according to Polygon. This is due to Batman, Gandalf the Grey and Wyldstyle being the first three characters available in the game. The three characters are also the game’s lead characters of the story, as they recruit other heroes into their fight to save the multiverse.

Overall, there will be 14 Adventure Worlds to explore in “Lego Dimensions.” The best part about these open-ended areas is that players will be able to use any of the characters in the game to explore these worlds. So if anyone wants to have Scooby-Doo explore the city of Springfield or Doctor Who walk around Metropolis, then they are allowed to do so.

Each world will be large, with multiple sections to explore and a myriad of things to do. Players will be able to race through various terrains with vehicles, collect Lego bricks, participate and fight various enemies, like the orcs from “Lord of the Rings.”

Shack News confirmed that most of these Adventure Worlds could be bought through the “Lego Dimensions” level packs, team packs and fun packs. One of the featured packs with an Adventure World is the “Ghostbusters” pack, which comes with Lego Peter Venkman from the movie. Players can also expand the experience with the “Ghostbusters” fun pack, which features Lego Slimer and the Lego Marshmallow monster.

“Lego Dimensions” will be available on Sept. 27 for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii U. More content for the game, such as level packs and a number of new characters will be released later this year.
