Lewis Hamilton, who is chasing a sixth World Championship has said that he has not touched his peak yet and can still get better and stronger.

Ahead of the United States Grand Prix weekend, Hamilton, who is almost certain of securing his sixth title on Sunday, needs to make sure he does not lose 22 points to his Mercedes teammate Valletri Bottas.

"I never thought I would have five titles. If I am able to get the sixth one, it will be pretty unreal. I don't think I've hit the peak yet and I plan to continue to get stronger," the Brit said in an interview recently.

At the same time, he has also ensured that he is not taking anything for granted and he will be "approaching it exactly as I have all year, one race at a time."

The only way for Bottas to keep the title race alive is by winning the United States Grand Prix and at the same time, he needs Hamilton to finish below P8, which is highly unlikely, considering Mercedes and the reigning champion's current run. Moreover, Hamilton has won in Texas for as many as five times in the last seven years.

"Austin has been a good race for us in the past. It was not so good last year, but it is a good hunting ground in general and I am going to be pushing very hard this weekend to finish where I plan to finish. But it's going to be a challenge again with the temperatures and the wind. I can't tell you how it would feel but I approach every year as if it's the first and it'll be the same next year," Hamilton added.

The current weather conditions in Austin could make things a tad difficult for the drivers this weekend. Austin, which has been encountering surprising cool temperatures, recorded it's coldest Halloween for nearly 30 years on Thursday. It is believed that because of this, the drivers could struggle to get the tires up to the right operating temperatures.
