Princess Beatrice, a member of the British royal family, emerged as one of the most popular royals on Instagram in 2020, leaving behind Kate Middleton. The wedding pictures of Queen Elizabeth II's granddaughter went viral and gained her enormous popularity on the social media platform.

Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi tied the knot in the summer of 2020. The pictures from the extremely private wedding ceremony were the most liked photos on the official Instagram account of the royal family, according to Hello.

The daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah, Duchess of York, was supposed to get married in a royal wedding originally planned for May 2020 at the Chapel Royal at St. James's Palace with a reception at the Buckingham Palace. However, the royal wedding was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The princess and the property developer eventually tied the knot on July 17, 2020, at the Royal Chapel of All Saints, Royal Lodge, Windsor. Immediate family members, including Princess Beatrice's parents, Prince Andrew and Duchess Sara, and grandparents Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, attended the surprise ceremony.

The followers of the royal family were surprised with the news of Princess Beatrice's wedding when pictures from her nuptials were posted on their social media accounts. The official portrait of the newlyweds, which shows them standing outside the Royal Chapel of All Saints with the grandparents, has reportedly garnered more than 1.1 million likes and more than 100,000 comments. Meanwhile, another set of pictures, featuring a close-up of the royal couple, has garnered 842,500 likes.

"Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice of York and Mr. Mapelli Mozzi have been touched by the warm wishes they have received since their wedding, and are delighted to share two additional photographs of their happy day. The pictures show Princess Beatrice and Mr. Mapelli Mozzi in the grounds of Royal Lodge after their wedding," read the caption on the picture taken by photographer Benjamin Wheeler.

The 32-year-old princess wore a vintage Norman Hartnell gown, which had been worn by the Queen in the 1960s, and paired it with Queen Mary's diamond fringe tiara.

Beatrice's wedding photos are among the top nine photos that the royal family posted in the year 2020. Another most-liked portrait is a picture of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh taken during their 73rd wedding anniversary in November 2020. In the picture, the monarch and the Duke of Edinburgh can be seen "looking at an anniversary card made by Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis."
