Rick Cosnett announced that he is gay on his Instagram account. The actor shared a video message on the social media app.

Cosnett is known for his work in “The Flash” and “The Vampire Diaries.” The Zimbabwe-born actor’s video was viewed more than 45000 times and counting.

“Hi, everyone. Dramatic pause … I’m gay,’ Cosnett said. He added that he is coming out publicly as he made a promise to himself that he will live his truth every day.

“And sometimes that is a really hard thing to do when you have all these subconscious things you don’t even know about from childhood, and from society, and from … just life,” 36-year-old Cosnett said in the video via The New York Post.

He mentioned that most of his fans knew about him being gay. “So, there you go. I’m sure most of you probably knew anyway. And, yeah, that’s actually all I wanted to say,” the actor said. He added that he has a sty on his eye, which adds to the entire drama of him coming out.

Cosnett’s co-stars from “The Flash” sent him love via comments on the video. “you’re one of the good ones. Love u,” Candice Patton, who plays Iris in the show, commented. Danielle Panabaker, who portrays Killer Frost in the superhero TV series, commented a heart emoji.

Cosnett is known for his work as Dr. Wes Maxfield on “The Vampire Diaries,’ Detective Eddie Thawne on “The Flash” and Elias Harper on “Quantico.”

Meanwhile, in “The Flash” Season 6 episode 12 titled “A Girl Named Sue,” Ralph gets a lead on Sue’s whereabouts. He finally meets her. However, Sue tells him that she has no plans to return home to her family. She insists that Ralph join her on a daring adventure. Meanwhile, Iris is kidnapped by the mysterious mirror in Eva McCulloch’s office. She figures out that her imposter is out there in the real world.
