The Flash
Zoom (Tony Todd) makes his debut in episode 6 of "The Flash" Season 2. The CW

Barry (Grant Gustin) has been doing battle with Zoom on "The Flash" since the beginning of Season 2. Ever since the portal opened between Earth 1 and Earth 2, the Earth 2 supervillain has been sending meta-human baddies through the breach to kill the Flash. Barry is done beating around the bush. He wants to take on Zoom one on one. Luckily, he has a plan to set a trap in episode 6, "Enter Zoom."

The episode begins with a flash-forward to an intense duel between the Flash and Dr. Light (Malese Jow). Things are not going well! The Earth 2 meta-human is making quick work of the Flash and soon has him pinned and helpless. But wait! Wasn't Dr. Light locked up in S.T.A.R. Labs at the end of episode 5?

The show flashes back 72 hours where Dr. Light is indeed safely in her cell. Barry plans to use her to draw Zoom out of hiding. He believes he can get Dr. Light to trust that the only way to not live the rest of her life looking over her shoulder is to help him take down her boss. Dr. Light tells Barry that Zoom instructed her to throw the Flash's new chest emblem through the space-time breach after she had disposed of the superhero. Unfortunately, not long after, Dr. Light goes missing. Apparently, she can turn invisible -- who knew? --and she uses that ability to escape.

Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) and Joe (Jesse Martin) are still having trouble trusting Wells. Caitlin and Joe urge Cisco to use his Vibe powers to learn about his past.

Joe is also having a hard time trusting Patty (Shantel VanSanten), who is frustrated that her partner will not tell her why they are no longer looking for Dr. Light. She knows something is up and thinks it is the fact that she and Barry kissed. She tries to clear the air and tell him, but is confused when he still gives her nothing.

Elsewhere, Barry and Iris (Candice Patton) come up with a new plan to trap Zoom. In fact, Iris has the perfect secret weapon to lure Zoom to Earth 1 -- Linda Park. Since Dr. Light is gone and Linda Park looks, well, exactly like her meta-human Doppelganger, Barry and Iris figure if they stage things to make it look like Dr. Light has killed the Flash, Zoom might show up to investigate, allowing them to spring a trap. Barry goes to ask Linda -- as the Flash, of course -- and the sports reporter agrees, wanting to make up for the people Light killed trying to get to her.

Training Linda to use Dr. Light's suit and fake superhero powers is not the easiest task. She struggles to get the hang of Dr. Light's energy blast gloves and Barry has to speed off to grab the fire extinguisher more than a few times.

"Maybe if she did not scream every time she fired," Wells chides.

Despite Linda's setbacks, Barry still insists they go through with the plan. That has everyone at S.T.A.R. Labs worried and Joe wonders if Barry is not rushing things because he is still not over the fact that he could not stop Reverse Flash by himself. Barry realizes he is asking a lot of Linda -- she is risking her life -- so he pays her a visit.

"You are trusting me, so I need to trust you," he tells her, before removing his mask and revealing his true identity to his ex-girlfriend.

"I have made out with the Flash," Linda replies, astonished.

Back at S.T.A.R. Labs, Cisco is still trying to dig up the dirt on Wells. He "accidently" spills some oil lubricant on one of Wells' projects and when he touches the scientist cleaning up he gets a vibe of Zoom holding Wells' daughter hostage.

That night, the S.T.A.R. Labs team puts their plan into action. Linda does her best Dr. Light impression -- Malese Jow is a pretty good at pretending to be a bad actor! -- and Barry plays dead. Joe and Wells are nearby waiting to fire a couple of rifle shots into the breach to hit Zoom before he realizes what happens. Linda throws Barry's emblem into the breach -- but nothing happens.

A disappointed Barry has a chat with Joe. He confesses he is still haunted by something Wells -- Eobard Thawne's Wells, that is -- told him on the videotape he left for Barry in the Season 2 premiere -- that he would never truly be happy.

Iris and Linda head back to their office while they chat about the pressures of keeping the Flash identity secret. However, they are interrupted when Zoom shows up after all and kidnaps Linda. He takes her to S.T.A.R. Labs where he dangles her from the roof before dropping her for Barry to save. Barry catches her, then, Barry and Zoom go at it.

Barry is confident. He charges up for a thunder bomb, hurling a lightning bolt of energy at Zoom just like Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) taught him. Unfortunately, Zoom catches the lightning bolt and throws it right back. Zoom takes the upper hand and pummels his Earth 1 counterpart. Then, he tours the nearly dead Flash around town, showing everyone at the newspaper and the police station their broken hero. His last stop is S.T.A.R. Labs, where he makes a show out of killing Barry in front of his friends. However, right before he deals the deadly blow, Cisco shoots him with Wells' anti-speed serum dart and Zoom flees.

After Zoom leaves, Joe is on the brink of murdering Wells, whom he believes is to blame for Barry's brutal beating. He eases up, though, when Cisco reveals that Zoom has Wells' daughter. Wells admits he thought he stood a better chance of stopping Zoom with Barry's help. That is why he came to Earth 1. "I was wrong," he sneers, before leaving himself.

Meanwhile, Barry is alive, but he has a problem.

"I can't feel my legs."
