Ford (F) has come clean that it is releasing a Bronco 4x4 SUV again, but whether or not there would be a Baby Bronco was more of speculation until now. Several reports have indicated that there is a Baby Bronco on the way, and the name of the mini-4x4 has finally been leaked.

According to the Bronco6G fan forum, the Baby Bronco will aptly be named the Maverick. While the name is one of several that have been tossed around the internet, it seems that a forum member discovered part numbers listed specifically under the Maverick name.

The member found the vehicle listed as a 2020 model as well, which may indicate that its debut is coming sooner than previously thought. The report from the forum source also indicated that production of the possible Maverick is slated to begin in August.

The Baby Bronco, or now Maverick, will be based on the larger Bronco 4x4 SUV but built on the same platform as the Ford Escape, according to Car Buzz. The Baby Bronco won’t be so much an off-road vehicle but rather a rugged-looking all-wheel drive crossover that will appeal to outdoorsy customers that want a smaller footprint vehicle than the full-sized Bronco SUV or boxier Ford Escape SUV.

Power for the mini-4x4 is thought to come from a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline three-cylinder engine as well as a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder powertrain – both mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission, Car Buzz said.

Shares of FOrd stock were up 0.79% as of 2:04 p.m. EST on Tuesday.
