For those displaced by the South California fires, the ridesharing company Lyft is offering free rides.

The company’s offer can be availed for rides that would cost up to $40. To avail the offer, you need to use the code LASAFERIDES. The free rides are offered by Lyft to evacuation centres that have been set up in the wake of the fires.

Following is the list of evacuation centers Lyft presently provides rides to:

  • UCLA
  • Balboa Recreation Center
  • Van Nuys Recreation Center
  • Delano Park
  • Cheviot Hills Recreation Center
  • Oxnard College Gymnasium
  • Santa Paula Community Center
  • Fillmore Veterans Memorial
  • Santa Barbara Multi Activity Center
  • Ventura County Fairgrounds
  • Nordhoff High School

A statement issued by Lyft Los Angeles general manager said, “We’re devastated by the fires in Southern California and our hearts go out to those who have been affected. We are currently working with local officials to develop a plan to offer rides to evacuation centers once the roads are clear, and we are focused on the safety of our drivers and Lyft community.”
