  • Man Utd could sell Pogba to sign Sancho this summer
  • Sancho's transfer fee is about $130m at Dortmund
  • Due to the pandemic, Man Utd boss has been given a restricted transfer budget

Manchester United reportedly could end up selling Paul Pogba to fund the transfer of Jadon Sancho from Dortmund this summer transfer window.

Before the coronavirus pandemic struck the world, Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had plans to rejuvenate the side before the 2020-21 campaign. He had earlier said the club was just a few signings away from once again becoming one of the title contenders in the Premier League. The Norwegian manager was looking to revive The Red Devils’ attacking options as the likes of Sancho, Jack Grealish and James Maddison were heavily linked to the Old Trafford side.

Now that the pandemic virus has created a major financial impact on almost all the soccer clubs, Man Utd chief executive Ed Woodward has asked Solskjaer to restrict his transfer budgets and that would mean, either not going for big signings or letting go of some star players.

Since Solskajer reportedly remains adamant about signing Sancho and Grealish, he has decided to not go ahead with signing Tottenham superstar Harry Kane.

There has been a question mark on Pogba’s Old Trafford future for a while now. According to The Sun, due to the current crisis, Man Utd could consider letting Pogba and Chris Smalling leave the club and with their transfer fee, the former Premier League champions tend to sign Sancho, who has several other top European clubs, including FC Barcelona, chasing him ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Apart from Messi and Eden Hazard, Sancho was the only player – across the top-five soccer leagues – to score and provide assists in double figures and this shows his market value has sky-rocketed right now. It is understood that Dortmund has marked a transfer fee of $130 million for the Englishman.

The other players who are expected to leave Man Utd at the end of this season are the likes of Marcos Rojo, Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira and all of them are believed to soon find a new club.

It is also understood that Man Utd have eyes on Matthijs de Ligt, their former target, who is currently struggling to settle at Juventus at Serie A.
