KEY POINTS

  • The Packers may get a wide receiver before the NFL trade deadline
  • Jerry Jeudy is among the targets that could make sense for the Packers
  • Green Bay urgently needs to reinforce their wide receiving corps

The Green Bay Packers are a team to watch, with the NFL trade deadline on November 1 nearing.

With Randall Cobb placed on the injured reserve and most of its rookie wide receivers struggling, the report of Jordan Schultz of The Score makes sense.

According to the scribe, the Packers are interested in a trade for a wide receiver.

Schultz also went on to name three wide receivers that could be potential targets for Green Bay–Chase Claypool of the Pittsburg Steelers, Jerry Jeudy of the Denver Broncos, and Elijah Moore of the New York Jets.

It should be noted that Claypool, Jeudy and Moore are all still under rookie deals.

But acquiring any of them would depend if the Packers can satisfy the demands of their respective teams.

In the case of Claypool, the Steelers are allegedly demanding multiple Day 2 picks.

As for Moore, the Jets are standing pat and have no interest in trading the second-year wide receiver.

Meanwhile, Jeudy is singled out as one of the wide receivers that the Broncos can opt to deal out to get some draft capital.

But looking at the roster of Denver, another wide receiver that could make sense for the Packers is K.J. Hamler.

But of the two, Jeudy has a point to prove and the Packers may be able to provide that.

However, there are shortcomings that Jeudy carries that the Packers need to be made aware of.

He has had a disappointing season so far, recording only 17 catches for 290 yards and two touchdowns.

The 23-year-old player has caught only 47% of his targets, but part of this can be pinned on the inaccurate plays of Russell Wilson.

Jeudy has two years left in his current deal with the Broncos.

Aside from Cobb, another player that the Packers will be missing is Allen Lazard.

The NFL veteran suffered a shoulder injury, but it remains unclear when he incurred it.

Lazard's injury is a huge blow for the Packers, especially considering he is one of the reliable receivers that Aaron Rodgers has been able to connect with.
