Halle Berry took to Instagram over the weekend to prank celebrities and her 7.4 million fans by sharing photos that implied she is married to her boyfriend, singer Van Hunt.

The 55-year-old actress shared two photos on Instagram. In the first one, Berry and Hunt went for the kiss while in the second photo they had a close-up selfie with a text that reads, "It's 2022!"

"Well…IT’S OFFICIAL!" Berry captioned the photo. Many celebs including Dwayne Johnson, Alyssa Milano, Ava DuVernay, Lesley-Ann Brandt wished the couple congratulations, assuming they had exchanged vows.

The actress simply broke the line, “It’s official! It’s 2022!” and people assumed that she is talking about her wedding rather than swiping the post to see that she was talking about the new year.

One of the fans commented, "It’s official.. it’s 2022. Isn’t that what this post is saying?" to which the actress replied, "Yeeesssss!!"

Berry shared a follow-up post on Sunday and revealed that it was not really a wedding and the couple was just having some "New Year's Day Fun!" In the post, she shared a selfie of her and Hunt, wearing the same outfit.

"We were just having some New Year’s Day fun! People clearly don’t swipe as much as we thought they did," Berry wrote in the caption with a laughing emoji. "Thank you for the well wishes, tho’, it really touched our hearts! Now it’s OFFICIAL, the internet is no longer undefeated."

Many fans took to the comments section to admit that even they thought the same without swiping the post properly.

"Oops, you got me too! However, good times and good love are worthy of celebration and congratulations," a fan wrote. Another wrote, "When reading the post fully matters most! ___ Happy New Year!"

Berry has been in a relationship with the Grammy-winning musician since 2020. Though not married to Hunt, the "Catwoman" star has been divorced three times so far; she was first married to baseball player David Justice from 1993 to 1997. Berry later exchanged vows with singer Eric Benét but they parted ways four years into the marriage, and she was later married actor Olivier Martinez. The couple filed for divorce three years later in 2016.

On the work front, Berry will next be seen in movies like "Moonfall," "The Mothership" and "Our Man from Jersey."
