A rumor is doing the rounds about “Deadpool 2.” On Saturday, March 4, the movie’s star, Ryan Reynolds, uploaded a teaser trailer of the highly anticipated film starring the Marvel superhero. It shows Deadpool walking on the street and hearing the cries of an old man carrying shopping bags after a robber pulls a gun on him.

Deadpool then goes to a phone booth in the street to change and apprehend the robber. Watch the clip below:

At the 2:05 mark, when Reynolds’ foul mouthed mutant rushes to rescue the old man from the robber, you can see a poster of Josh Whedon’s sci-fi series “Firefly” which starred “Castle” alum Nathan Fillion. This got fans speculating that maybe the actor has been cast in the movie.

The second clue that set off the rumor is present in the phone booth. The words “Nathan Summers coming soon” is clearly etched on the side of the booth. These two clues have led some fans to believe that the 45-year-old star has been cast as Wade Wilson’s friend, Cable, whose real name is Nathan Summers.

Alas, this isn’t true. Entertainment Weekly has learnt that Fillion hasn’t been cast in the sequel. It’s just a rumor. The only aspect of the rumor that has been confirmed is that Cable/Nathan Summers will be seen in “Deadpool 2.”

The video pays homage to another Marvel movie involving a famous mutant. On the street, fans can clearly see that “Logan” is playing in a theatre. The movie, which stars Australian actor Hugh Jackman as the age-defying Wolverine, is currently doing extremely well at the box office.

Furthermore, Marvel comic-book writer Stan Lee makes an appearance in the trailer. Only Deadpool can tell Lee to shut up!

Deadpool 2” hits theatres on March 2, 2018.
