Heroes Reborn spinoff spoilers
"Heroes Reborn" will premiere in 2015 on NBC. Heroes

They’re tough, they’re supernatural and they won’t be returning to the spinoff series “Heroes Reborn.” We’re talking about the original cast of Tim Kring’s science fiction drama.

In February, NBC made a surprising announcement that touched the hearts of many “Heroes” fans: The four-season show that premiered in 2006 will be returning, but with a minor tweak.

According to reports, Kring will be introducing new storyline in addition to a new cast when the spinoff series hits airwaves in 2015. That means no David Anders, no Hayden Panettiere and no Ali Larter.

Although NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke teased that fans shouldn’t “rule out the possibility of some of the show’s original cast members popping back in,” we still can’t help but shudder at the thought of a Niki Sanders-less series.

Niki was one of our favorite characters from the show by far. She was sassy, stunning and super strong. But despite Niki’s large fan base, she wasn’t cast in the spinoff series.

In an interview with Zap2It, Larter explained her initial reaction upon learning that “Heroes Reborn” will return.

“When I saw that, I was like, 'Wow! Great!' I'm super happy for [creator Tim Kring], and if that's what he wants to do I think that's fantastic," Larter said in a statement. "I haven't talked to the rest of the cast. I don't even think it's written yet, so I don't even know what they're going to do with it.”

But despite Larter’s “excitement” for the spinoff, she did reveal an irritated vibe toward the end of her interview. Due to the publicity of the new show, Larter’s face has been used in several images promoting “Heroes Reborn” since there’s no official poster for it yet.

“I just know that my face was splashed all over, and I got about a thousand calls from it,” Larter said.

Amid the constant phone calls, Larter found some time in her busy schedule to reminisce about her time on the hit series and wish the upcoming series a bit of luck.

“It was an amazing time in my life. The first season of the show will forever be one of the best times I've ever had. It was just a really special time. For that, I hope that it work out well for them, and I wish them only the best.”
