"The Hills: New Beginnings," which started airing on MTV in June, is reportedly already off to a rocky start behind the scenes thanks to alleged arguments surrounding "vastly different salaries."

According to Radar Online, "tensions are brewing" among cast members of the reality show due to the fact that original cast member Audrina Patridge and former "The O.C." actress Mischa Barton are said to be earning much more than their costars.

"It's an open secret on the set that Audrina and Mischa are by far the highest paid personalities on the show, clearing well over $150K per episode for what's usually four hours of laid-back shooting," a source revealed to the publication. The rest of the cast is reportedly "making a quarter or less of that fee and doing a hell of a lot more work."

In turn, this has prompted the other television personalities on the show to demand equal pay, even though Mischa and Audrina "are oblivious" to the ongoing dissatisfaction regarding money.

However, this ongoing tension may be sticking around for quite some time as producers have been impressed with Mischa's performance since joining the reality show. A source even went so far as to say that "it's quickly become her show," which they ultimately believe could lead to follow-up seasons.

At this time, neither Mischa nor Audrina have publicly commented on the matter.
