The Honor 8 smartphone is Huawei’s latest budget flagship, which it aims to market in the U.S. The device was first announced in China in July, but Huawei hosted a special U.S. launch event in San Francisco Tuesday. Targeted toward millennials, the Honor 8 will be priced between $400 and $450 at launch.

The Honor 8 is definitely eye-catching, baring a striking resemblance to Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. It even features 2.5D glass, which has a slight curvature, but no so much as the dual-edge curved displays on Samsung’s smartphones.

Huawei especially promotes the Honor 8 camera, which is a dual-lens configuration, both featuring 12-megapixel lenses. They seemed to do well capturing images in demo areas, but has not performed optimally in the San Francisco evening. We will be testing further in better lighting conditions.

The fingerprint scanner proves speedy and can be used as a shortcut for functions such as swiping through photos and pulling up set favorite applications.

Like many other Honor devices, the Honor 8 includes Huawei’s signature knuckle shortcuts, which allow users to draw letters on screen with their knuckles to activate different functions, like launching certain applications.

The Honor 8 will be available at Amazon, Best Buy, B&H Photo Video, and Newegg and HiHonor.com/us/ in the coming weeks but consumers can preorder the device Aug. 17 through Sept. 3. Its 32GB storage model will sell for $399.99 and its 64GB model for $449.99.
