The late Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth II followed the rule of showing less are more when it comes to selling the monarchy.

Piers Morgan recently penned an article for Daily Mail in which he recounted Queen Mother’s simple rulebook for the members of the royal family. He said that Queen Mother encouraged everyone to preserve their dignity and popularity by never complaining, never explaining, and rarely being heard speaking in public.

And if the Queen Mother is still alive, Morgan said that she might be looking down on the members of the British clan with a frown on her face.

The “Good Morning Britain” host also credited Her Majesty for staying true to her core despite all of the changes happening among the younger generation of royals.

“Old-fashioned decorum is now frowned upon, a stiff upper lip even more reviled, and silence most definitely not considered golden. Yet the biggest star of them all, Her Majesty the Queen, is universally revered – just like her mother before her – for behaving in exactly that way,” Morgan said.

Prior to his conclusion, Morgan first criticized Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for their attempts at boosting their popularity through the use of their official Instagram account. On Sunday, the couple uploaded a video from their royal wedding to celebrate their anniversary.

Shortly after, Prince William and Kate Middleton used the same platform to share new photos and videos of their three children while promoting the Duchess of Cambridge’s flower show in Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Morgan also took notice of the fact that senior royals like Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles are not getting as much publicity as they are getting. The couple just returned from a four-day engagement in Germany but there was not much story told about their trip.

In March, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall also completed a total of 50 engagements on 10 different islands, but their publicity was not as broad compared to the younger royals.
