After the release of the HTC One A9, the Taiwanese company is now working on a high-end smartphone called HTC One X9. A leaked photo of the handset has surfaced along with its technical specifications.

Nowhereelese, a French website has spilled the beans on the upcoming HTC One X9 flagship. Since the exact size of the display of the mysterious flagship is not known yet, rumors suggest that it will be featuring a Quad HD display of about 5 inches. The image of the handset shows capacitive buttons below the display.

The handset will be either featuring a Snapdragon 820 or MediaTek Helio X20 chipset. The chipset will be supported by 4 GB of RAM. It will be coming two storage versions of 64 GB and 128 GB, Phone Arena reported. Other rumors suggest that a 3 GB RAM variant with 32 GB of storage will be also made available.

The front panel of the handset may feature a selfie camera of 4-megapixel powered UltraPixel technology. On its rear, it will be housing a 23-megapixel camera. The handset will be coming with a metal body that will be fitted with two BoomSound speakers on the front side. It will carry support for Dolby audio output. The HTC One X9 will be equipped with a huge battery of 3,500 mAh capacity.

Since the HTC One A9 has been released with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, the HTC One X9 is also likely to be shipped with most recent Android build, Tech Times reported. Rumors have also revealed that the handset will be costing RMB 2,999 (around $470) in China.

As of this writing, there is no official confirmation from the Taiwanese company on the HTC One X9. Since 2013 the One M series have been the flagship smartphones for HTC. However, the news about the HTC One X9 indicates that the company may be readying a new breed of flagship smartphones, Android Authority reported.
