Late last month, HTC announced that it will be having an important announcement on Sept. 20. Earlier today, the Taiwanese company released several teaser videos for the upcoming event where a new lineup of Desire smartphones are expected to be unveiled.

HTC published the three new teaser videos on YouTube and embedded all of them to its website’s new launch page. The first video shows a fingerprint scanner on the back of a device. The second one is a bit vaguer only showing the number 150 inside a circle. It’s possible that HTC is teasing a 150-degree wide-angle lens for the upcoming smartphone’s camera. The last teaser shows more of the new smartphone’s design, giving emphasis on the handset’s gold-colored metal edges. All of the videos end with the date of the upcoming event and the hashtag #BeEdgier.

The upcoming handsets are speculated to be part of HTC’s Desire line of smartphones. The company already unveiled the One A9 lineup during IFA Berlin last month, so the Desire line seems to be the logical suspect, as pointed out by TechnoBuffalo.

One of the handsets expected to make an appearance at the upcoming event is the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle which is rumored to come with a 5.5-inch 720p HD display, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and HTC’s signature Boomsound speakers. The device is said to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 2Gb or 3GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, according to Slash Gear.

There’s also whispers of a higher-end HTC Desire 10 Pro. The Pro model will still come with a 5.5-inch display, but it will have a full HD 1080p screen resolution. Inside, the device is expected to come with a slightly more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 32GB or 64GB of onboard storage.

The third video, which shows more of what the device would look like, matches the look of a previously leaked render. The render shows the same gold and metallic edges, a rather large camera module and a fingerprint scanner on the back. There’s no indication if this is the Desire 10 Lifestyle or the Desire 10 Pro, but reports claim that the two handsets will look pretty much the same.
