Huawei has partnered with Amazon to bring its new phablet, the Mate 9, to the American market this week. The Chinese telecommunications company has also announced prior CES 2017 that its high-specced smartphone is arriving in the United States with the Alexa voice assistant as one of its key features.

On Wednesday, Huawei released an official statement online to announce that the Mate 9 is launching in the U.S. on Jan. 6, Friday. The smartphone maker proudly stated that its device flaunts a beautiful design and performs impressively with its Kirin 960 chipset. It also boasted how the handset features machine-learning algorithm and SuperCharge technology.

Huawei mentioned that it has worked hard to bring the industry-leading hardware to consumers. This is not an overstatement since the Kirin 960 chipset is considered the highest-performing processor for smartphones as of late. The machine learning technology of the device also makes it a smart companion for heavy users.

Ensuring its success in the American market, Huawei promised to consumers that its Mate 9 phablet will never lag and will remain fast in performance for 18 months. The SuperCharge technology is also a big plus, since it charges the device for a full day of use in just 20 minutes.

The Mate 9 is also built to be a remarkable smartphone for photographers with its second-generation Leica dual-lens camera module. The module comprises a 12-megapixel monochrome sensor and a 12-megapixel RGB sensor. Huawei stated that this dual-lens camera is capable of superior magnification and comes with Hybrid Zoom.

As per Android Authority, the Mate 9 comes with a 5.9-inch 1080p display. It has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, a fingerprint scanner, 64GB of internal memory and a 4,000 mAh battery. It runs EMUI 5.0 on top of Android 7.0 Nougat.

The company emphasized its partnership with Amazon when it stated in the press release that the cloud-based voice service Alexa is going to be part of the Huawei Mate 9 user experience. Users will have the privilege of instructing the virtual assistant to set alarms, make to-do lists, get weather and traffic updates and even control a wide range of smart home devices.

The Mate 9 is priced at $599.99, and it comes in Space Gray and Moonlight Silver color options. It is going to be available for purchase from Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg and B&H Photo.
