A cruise ship was hit by three waves of more than 33 feet high in the western Mediterranean Wednesday, killing 2 people and injuring 14.

The abnormally high waves broke glass windshields and flooded passenger's cabins. It killed a German and an Italian, the Associated Press reported citing a Louis Cruise Lines spokesman Michael Maratheftis.

A lot of water came in. Many cabins were flooded, passenger Claude Cremex, 72 told the Associated Press. Many people were very frightened.

The ship owned by Louis Cruise Lines, was carrying 1,350 passengers and 580 crew members. It docked in Barcelona Wednesday night following the incident.
