Taiwanese electronics brand Asus is joining the slew of companies that will be launching new products at IFA 2016 in Berlin. And during its presentation on Aug. 31, Asus is rumored to publicly unveil its newest smartwatch, the ZenWatch 3.

The ZenWatch 2 was an affordable installment with a sophisticated style that came in three color variants. Its square body with curved corners made it an elegant timepiece that can rock any of the luxurious and fashionable straps available for it. Underneath, it did not stray away from what the original ZenWatch offered. It came with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage as its predecessor’s, as per Wearable. Without being too forgiving, it’s easy to say that the ZenWatch and the ZenWatch 2 are pretty similar devices, with the latter being released just for the sake of having a second-generation device for 2015.

This year, the ZenWatch line could get a major refresh when the Taiwanese company holds its presentation at IFA 2016. For one thing, its next-iteration smartwatch called ZenWatch 3 could come with a round body based on the numerous rumors and leaks floating around the World Wide Web.

The latest leak about the Asus ZenWatch 3 came with grainy photos of the smartwatch’s prototype, and if these photos have some truth in them since they mostly coincide with the previously leaked FCC filings for the device, then it is almost confirmed that the handset will be arriving with a round display, according to The Verge.

In three of the leaked photos, the round display of the wearable is surrounded by a gold ring which is a good contrast against the mainly black color of the body and the strap of the prototype. This suggests that the device may have a two-tone finish on the front and possibly on the back as well, since there is another photo showing the same band on the opposite side of the display. Two of the leaked photos also suggest that the ZenWatch 3 could be arriving with a distinct magnetic ring charging cradle that can easily be attached to the bottom of the device when it needs to replenish its power fuel, GSM Arena noted.

Other specs and features of the smartwatch were outed by the FCC documents that came to light earlier this week. According to the filings, the third-generation ZenWatch will sport a body made of stainless steel and will have support for Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11n. There is no word yet on how much onboard memory and RAM the device will be sporting, but if Asus is doing a drastic change on the body of the device, then it’s likely that the internals will also be improved.

As of writing, the leaked photos have been taken down from Chinese site ePrice; however, GSM Arena managed to grab copies of the images before they were deleted. To check them out, click here.
