A high school footballer from Indiana, Aaron Trejo pleaded guilty Wednesday to killing a cheerleader, Breana Rouhselang, 17, in 2018. The girl was pregnant with his child at the time.

According to Indiana’s WSBT-TV, Trejo, 17, made the plea at St. Joseph County courthouse in connection with charges of murder and feticide. He told police he and Rouhselang had an argument about her pregnancy on the night of her death.

According to the charging documents obtained by Fox News, Trejo, in an interview with South Bend Detective Gery Mullins – revealed that he was aware of Rouhselang’s pregnancy and he was the father. Trejo also said Rouhselang had delayed telling him about it and that it was too late for an abortion, which triggered Trejo to kill her on Dec. 8, 2018.

Trejo told Mullins that he stabbed Rouhselang in the chest with a knife because he assumed it would kill her quickly. He then stuffed her body in a black plastic bag and threw it in a dumpster behind a restaurant. He threw her phone and the knife into a river in Mishawaka, about 80 miles east of Chicago. Rouhselang was six months pregnant at the time of her death.

Trejo faces up to 80 years in prison at his sentencing scheduled for Jan. 7, 2020.
