For people managing the assets of high net worth individuals, their interest in cybersecurity grew significantly between 2018 and 2019. Cybersecurity is increasingly coming to the forefront of people’s mind with more and more people citing the issue as a concern.

TD Ameritrade takes an annual survey of its registered investment advisors, who lead companies managing assets of high net worth individuals. Between 2018 and 2019, RIAs changed their tune on several tech investments. Only about one in ten RIAs said they were considering investing in cybersecurity heading into 2018. Within a year, nearly six in ten RIAs said they were looking to invest in cybersecurity. Other significant jumps in investor sentiment included performance reporting tech, digital documents and eSignature investments, CRM tools, financial planning, and social media tools.
