  • Inter Milan want to sign Anthony Martial from Man Utd
  • Martial's transfer fee is expected to be around $79 million
  • Martial has been in a great form, scoring 21 goals this season

Inter Milan reportedly have hatched a plan to persuade Manchester United in a deal that could see Anthony Martial move to Italy this summer.

The Serie A side has been a long-term admirer of Martial, who has been in an excellent form since the Premier League restarted in June after the coronavirus break. By scoring in Man Utd’s recent 2-2 draw against Southampton, Martial has taken his goal tally of the 2019-20 season to 21. He along with Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes has helped Man Utd go closer to top four in the Premier League table with three more games left in their campaign.

While Inter Milan are interested in Martial, Man Utd are unlikely to cash in on the Frenchman, who is at the top of his game right now. Inter Milan signed Romelu Lukaku from Man Utd last summer and according to Italian publication, Calciomercato, Martial is being regarded as a perfect fit for Antonio Conte’s style with the Nerazzurri.

The report has further disclosed that Inter Milan have a secret weapon that would tempt the Red Devils into selling Martial when the summer transfer window opens in the coming weeks.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign a center-back this summer, and Inter Milan’s defender Milan Skriniar has been one of Man Utd’s long-term targets. According to the report in Calciomercato, Inter Milan have labeled Skriniar at $72 million, while they believe Martial is worth $79 million.

Inter are hoping to lure Man Utd with a player-plus-cash bid by offering Skriniar along with a regular transfer fee. While it's not known if Solskjaer will accept a swap deal for Martial, the 2-2 draw against Southampton exposed their defending woes at the back and that could be resolved with an addition of a player like Skriniar.

The Italian side is keen on someone like Martial because they are believed to be looking for a replacement for Lautaro Martinez, who is set to leave for Barcelona.
