International Sudoku Day is celebrated annually on Sept. 9 to create awareness about the logic-based puzzle and also teach people the fun number game.

The puzzle, developed by a mathematician from Switzerland in the 18th century, comprises a grid of boxes called cells that are stacked nine high and nine wide, totaling 81 cells. Players are required to fill each row, column and square with digits from 1 to 9. Players should make sure they don’t repeat the numbers within the row, column, or square.

The best way to observe International Sudoku Day is to play Sudoku and teach the game to someone else.

On this occasion, here are a few quotes about the game. (Courtesy - More Famous Quotes)
