Apple iOS 5
Apple's new iOS 5 Apple

Good news for Apple users who want to jailbreak their devices running on iOS 5 or 5.0.1.

Pod2g, who has been testing his new untethered jailbreak on different devices running on Apple's latest mobile operating system and its updated versions, is finally done with testing the new program on all Apple devices powered by A4 processor.

In his recent blog post, the Chronic Dev-team's French hacker said he was done with the testing on all A4 devices including the Apple TV.

Pod2g is now going to finalize the untethered jailbreak for all the A4 devices and said users can expect the release soon.

Now is the time to finalize the jailbreak for old devices, fix some stability issues and package the whole. That will take some days, he posted.

The hacker is refraining himself from releasing an unfinished or beta version for testing as he doesn't want any leak to spoil his hard work.

BTW: Please don't propose to be a beta tester because I'm too paranoid, fearing leaks, the hacker said.

After finishing the testing on A4 devices, Pod2g is all set to start his search of a jailbreak on A5 devices like iPhone 4S and iPad 2.

In the meanwhile, I'm starting the research for iPad2 and 4S. I'll take you informed of my progress. Finally, I want to thank all who donated. I now can buy both devices! I don't know what to say, he said.

Though the jailbreak for A4 devices is ready and needs just some finishing touches, the release date of the untethered jailbreak is still not know.

As iPad 2 and iPhone 4S are running on Apple's latest processor A5, it is very hard for the hackers to find a jailbreak for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S as they could not find a bootrom-level exploit in A5 processor.

After finding the untethered jailbreak last Saturday, Pod2g said that he may not release the present jailbreak until he finds one for A5 devices.

Next, I'll return to the research for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. I don't know if I gonna release first for other devices or not. I've to think about it. Feel free to give your opinion. I'll update the blog when I have news, he posted.
