Jennifer Garner made a heartbreaking decision after Ben Affleck cheated on her.

Four years ago, reports swirled that Affleck had an affair with his children’s nanny, Christine Ouzounian. Shortly after, Garner and Affleck announced their separation.

During her interview with Vanity Fair months later, Garner said that she made the conscious decision to not watch whatever is said about her and Affleck in the news.

“I turned on CNN one day and there we were. I just won’t do it anymore. I took a silent oath with myself last summer to really stay offline. I am totally clueless about all of it,” she said.

When Garner decided not to watch whatever is said about her and Affleck in the news, the “Batman v Superman” star accused her of not caring. The “Peppermint” star that she thinks it’s the exact opposite.

“It hurts me so much and I care so much. Choosing not to give a [expletive] how the divorce looks to the outside world. I cannot be driven by the optics of think. I cannot let anger or hurt be my engine,” she said.

Garner also said that she needed to think about her three young children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel during that difficult time.

Meanwhile, the “13 Going On 30” star assured fans that her eyes were wide open during her marriage to Affleck. And she also denied the allegations that Ouzounian was the reason for their divorce.

According to Garner, she and Affleck had already been separated for months before she heard about the latter’s alleged infidelity.

And despite all of the struggles that the former couple faced, Garner admitted that Affleck was the love of her life. And what they had was not just for the cameras.

At that end of the day, Garner tried to stay in her marriage but things just didn’t work out. At present, Garner and Affleck are friends, and they continue to co-parent their three children.

A source also told Entertainment Tonight that Garner continues to support her ex-husband with his sobriety.
