Jennifer Lopez 'Livid' At Ben Affleck After He Blames Jennifer Garner For His Alcoholism

Jennifer Lopez is reportedly upset after Ben Affleck publicly blamed his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, for his drinking problems. The "Gone Girl" actor said he felt "trapped" in the marriage with Garner and it was partially the reason he started drinking.

Affleck broke an agreement they had when he spoke about his failed marriage and alcohol addiction in a recent interview on "The Howard Stern Show," a source close to Lopez revealed to Radar Online. "Jennifer is Livid," the source said.

"They both agreed that they wouldn’t talk about their private lives in any depth after what happened last time they were together," the insider added. "It was all carefully planned that they would do pix together but that’s all."

"At events the press is told ‘no questions about JLO and Ben. Only questions about the film. Now he shot off his big mouth and dragged her into it," the source went on to add.

It was further revealed that Lopez had carefully drawn out plans to blend her family with Affleck's, and this included his kids and ex-wife Garner. "Jen (Lopez) has been working really hard to build a relationship with Ben’s children. They are going to read the quotes from their dad trashing their mom. Jen has also worked really hard to have a relationship with Jennifer (Garner). Ben just blew that up too," the source said.

The insider then added that J.Lo "doesn't tolerate this sloppy sh*t. She is buttoned up. She has her sh*t together."

During the interview with Stern, 49-year-old Affleck admitted he would "probably still be drinking" if he was married to Garner. The actor, who has struggled with alcohol addiction for years and completed multiple rehab stints, said: "It's part of why I started drinking … because I was trapped."

"I was like 'I can't leave 'cause of my kids, but I'm not happy, what do I do?' What I did was drink a bottle of scotch and fall asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution."

"[Lopez] is pissed. She is getting pulled into this because she is dating him. She doesn’t want to be dragged into this," another source told Page Six. "She has met Jennifer Garner. She is trying to get to know her and Ben’s kids," the source revealed, adding, "It’s reckless and cavalier of him."

Lopez and Affleck first dated in 2002. Just a day before their wedding in 2003, the couple decided to postpone it, citing immense media attention as the reason. However, the couple called off their engagement and ended the relationship in early 2004, according to ELLE.

Affleck and Garner started dating in mid-2004 and got married in 2005. After 10 years of togetherness and three kids, the couple announced their separation in 2015 and filed for divorce in 2017.
