Comedian Jenny McCarthy will officially be a part of “The View” to replace Joy Behar starting Sept. 9. It was almost two weeks ago that the blonde bombshell was in “serious talks” to appear on the daytime show, and on Monday, she took to her Splash.Suntimes.com blog to talk about her new career move.

McCarthy -- whose late-night talk show, Vh1's “The Jenny McCarthy Show,” is on the backburner for now, said: “I can’t tell you how excited I am for the opportunity to work with Barbara, Whoopi and Sherri,” the former Playboy model wrote. “ I will be doing everything I can to provoke conversation, make you think, make you laugh and maybe even spill the beans on what goes on backstage (like if I accidentally barge into Bradley Cooper’s dressing room in a towel).”

The 40-year-old added: “I might be moving from late night to daytime, but I’m just as fun with a mimosa as I am with a martini. I look forward to spiking your morning coffee on ‘The View’ for years to come.”

Barbara Walters, the only permanent panelist on the show who will eventually be leaving in 2014 announced on the ABC show Monday: "We are delighted that Jenny will be joining us as a permanent co-host on The View starting in September," Walters said, according to Us Weekly. "Jenny brings us intelligence as well as warmth and humor. She can be serious and outrageous. She has connected with our audience and offers a fresh point of view. Jenny will be a great addition to the show as we usher in an exciting new chapter for ‘The View.’”

The daytime show is going through a lot of changes. Elisabeth Hasselbeck just announced last week she would be leaving the show for a spot with Fox. "I'm really happy and excited to confirm that, indeed, I will be joining the Fox & Friends team in September," the conservative panelist said. "For a decade, I've been able to work efficiently at this table only because everyone behind the scenes as worked more efficiently."

“The View” is no stranger to change, and has gone through quite a few co-hosts. Previous co-hosts on the show include Debbie Matenopoulos, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones, Lisa Ling and Rosie O'Donnell. Sherri Shepherd and Whoopi Goldberg are also expected to return for Season 17, along with a newly added McCarthy, which will air on ABC at 11 a.m. EST.
