  • JoJo Siwa said she has sold over 80 million of her signature bows
  • She partnered with Nickelodeon for her merch business
  • The YouTube star came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community in January

Jojo Siwa has a net worth of $14 million at 17. Here’s how the YouTube star amassed her wealth.

Siwa is a product of reality TV shows, making her first appearance in the second season of "Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition” before joining “Dance Moms” in 2014, according to Celebrity Net Worth. However, it seems she was destined for greater things.

Siwa transitioned to music and YouTube, where she currently has 12.1 million subscribers on her channel. In 2016, she released her song “Boomerang,” which tackles the subject of cyberbullying. The music video has nearly 1 billion views and received over 2.5 million likes on YouTube.

The Omaha, Nebraska native had a vision even at a young age of what she wanted to achieve. Her manager, Caryn Sterling, guided her in reaching her dreams.

After Siwa signed a deal with Nickelodeon in 2017 at 13 years old, a move that ended her appearances in “Dance Moms,” she began selling merchandise, starting with a T-shirt. Many were initially skeptical about the shirts selling, but they ended up becoming a huge hit, Forbes reported.

The success of the T-shirts led to hundreds of other JoJo Siwa-themed products such as toys, accessories, apparel, bedding and her signature bows. The latter became the biggest seller in her business empire, with Siwa telling Forbes last year that over 80 million bows have been sold. Forbes estimated that the sales of this hair accessory alone have reached over $400 million.

At Nickelodeon, Siwa co-hosted “Lip Sync Battle Shorties” with Nick Cannon. The following year, she made her movie debut in Nickelodeon's “Blurt” and starred alongside her beloved Teacup Yorkie on the animated show, “The JoJo & BowBow Show Show.”

Siwa was also part of the cast of 2019's “The Angry Birds Movie 2” and made an appearance on the TV competition series “The Masked Singer” as T-Rex in early 2020.

When not busy making merch, uploading social media content and appearing on TV shows, Siwa goes on tour. In 2019, her “D.R.E.A.M. The Tour” had stops in 52 cities across the U.S. and Canada. Her future shows would eventually include stops in the U.K. and Australia.

On the personal side, Siwa owns a home in Tarzana, California, which she bought for $3.5 million. The property features marble floors, a sports court and a swimming pool. The multi-millionaire gave her social media fans a grand tour of her massive home last year.

The YouTube star recently made headlines after coming out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community through a video on TikTok. The video, in which she dances to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” has more than 25 million views on the platform. Celebrities such as Luke Eisner and Paris Hilton expressed their support for Siwa after her coming out.
