  • The actor said in a previous interview that he was lonely and overweight and he wanted to fix himself

Jonah Hill looked almost unrecognizable in his recent photo update on social media amid reports that he and his fiancée Gianna Santos already called off their engagement.

On Saturday, Hill shared a picture of him on Instagram wearing a white shirt and a cap while sitting in front of a table full of delicious meals.

"I always feel very vulnerable when I shave my beard. Please vote," he wrote in the caption.

The post received several responses from his fans and followers. He looked slimmer and older due to his thick beard, according to his some of fans. One also said that he looked homeless. But many still found him good-looking.

"Getting old bro," one commented.

"No really, who is that?" another asked.

"Bro the homeless look doesn’t fit you buddy," a different social media user added.

Meanwhile, "Parks and Recreation" star Rashida Jones approved of Hill's new look. "I'm more interested in that delicious take out but you look great either way (I'm hungry)," she wrote.

Just two days after the post, Us Weekly reported that Hill and Santos had already called off their engagement. The news was shocking to their fans since they were just spotted strolling through New York City in August.

"The spark went in Jonah and Gianna’s relationship," a source told the news outlet.

Hill and Santos got engaged in 2019. His sister Beanie Feldstein even gushed over the actor’s decision to pop the big question to Santos.

"Oh, my God, I mean, he’s my best friend in the world, so I’m always excited for him," she said at a pre-Golden Globes event in Beverly Hills in January.

Meanwhile, Hill has openly talked about his weight loss journey during his appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in 2018. He explained that everyone got something about themselves that they wanted to fix and for him, it was his 14-year-old self when he was still overweight and trying to fit in with the rest of the kids.

"I think everybody has a version of themselves — I call it, like, a snapshot, let’s say, at some point in your life, of the person you are," he told DeGeneres.

"So for me, it’s definitely being, like, this 14-year-old kid, being overweight, wanting to fit in with these skaters and hip-hop kids and just feeling lonely and maybe not understanding my own worth."
