Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s photos were recently analyzed to reveal the truth about their relationship. And according to experts, the sisters-in-law are not friends.

While speaking with Daily Mail, body language experts Adrianne Carter and Amana Walker looked at the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex’s photos and revealed how their relationship deteriorated over the years.

In December 2017, the sisters-in-law were photographed alongside their husbands during Markle’s first Christmas Day walkabout with the royal family at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Norfolk.

At that time, photos of Markle and Middleton show them looking happy to be in each other’s company.

“There's not much distance between Kate and Meghan, showing no signs of tension or disharmony at this stage,” Carter said. “The girls are smiling in unison, look relaxed to be with each other and, crucially, are walking side by side. Their body language clearly says "we’re friends,’” Walker said.

Two months later, Middleton and Markle continued to show relaxed body language when they attended their first Royal Foundation Forum. A pregnant Middleton seemed very happy to be around her sister-in-law, and the two female royals couldn’t help but laugh together.

But June 2018 seemed to be a turning point for the royals. While at the Trooping the Colour, Middleton, and Markle no longer seemed as relaxed as they once were.

A photo of the sisters-in-law shows Markle standing behind Middleton, but she evidently moved a few inches to her left side to make sure that she could still be seen by the public.

“Kate is focusing clearly on her role and her eyes are fixed ahead – even though she knows how close Meghan is behind her. There is no attempt by Kate to tilt her body or head towards Meghan,” Walker said.

Fast forward to March 2020, Middleton and Markle reunited at the Commonwealth Day service. It was evident that the Duchess of Cambridge held herself very formally, and she was also conscious of the fact that the world’s spotlight was on her.

“When we hold ourselves so rigidly it can be a sign of tension but I suspect it's because she is so conscious of the spotlight. Meghan is showing a very relaxed body language posture, almost like the weight of portraying anything other than who she is has gone. Her face is in a gentle genuine smile - she has what she wants and is comfortable,” Carter said.
