  • Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's exit left the Duchess of Cambridge covering for more royal engagements
  • Prince William and Middleton's hope to be hands-on parents to their kids may have been squashed by "Megxit"

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the royal family in March, leaving a lot of unfinished work to the remaining senior members like Kate Middleton and husband Prince William. And now, some royal insiders have branded the Sussexes’ exit as “selfish.”

Royal insiders told Tatler that the mom of three feels “exhausted and trapped” after working hard without many holidays and the benefit of boundaries. Although Middleton appears to be all smiles and always dresses appropriately, she reportedly doesn’t want this.

"Kate is furious about the larger workload. She feels exhausted and trapped,” the source claimed.

While people may think that the Duchess of Cambridge may be feeling tired because of the coronavirus that disrupted daily routines, the sources claimed that the reason for her exhaustion is not just the pandemic. Middleton allegedly began to feel burned out after Prince Harry and Markle’s departure from the royal family, which has been dubbed as “Megxit.”

"Meghan and Harry have been so selfish. William and Catherine really wanted to be hands-on parents and the Sussexes have effectively thrown their three children under a bus,” a source, who is said to be a friend of the Cambridges, revealed.

Since Megxit, Middleton took over more than a dozen of royal engagements every month, which may have become a problem in her and her husband’s desire to remain hands-on when raising their kids, Princes Louis and George and Princess Charlotte, E! News reported.

The grim image painted by the sources is a far cry from what the public has seen from Middleton’s appearance. On top of that, the 38-year-old duchess has also been recently vocal about her hardships in homeschooling her kids.

Middleton spoke up about how Prince George becomes upset because he wants to do Princess Charlotte’s homework instead of his own tasks.

Rumors recently began swirling that Middleton and Prince William were considering keeping their two toddlers at home even when school is said to reopen in summer and to continue their lockdown routine.

While news that Middleton is finding a heavier workload difficult to accomplish, Markle and Prince Harry have since flown to Los Angeles, California, a step that was highly criticized. They have been staying at an expansive mansion owned by TV mogul Tyler Perry.
