Kate Middleton's accessories during Prince Philip's funeral Saturday were a touching tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and the late Duke of Edinburgh, a report says.

The Duchess of Cambridge was photographed in a modest fascinator hat, netted veil and Roland Mouret dress with an asymmetrical neckline during the service, which was held at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. But it was the dangling pearl earrings and necklace Duchess Kate wore that caught the attention of royal watchers.

The Japanese pearl choker necklace, which features four strands of pearls and a diamond clasp, was loaned to her by the Queen, People reported. According to The Court Jeweller, the piece was gifted to the monarch by the Japanese government and made by Garrard.

The Queen was previously seen wearing it during a visit to Bangladesh in the '80s. She also loaned the choker to Princess Diana for a state visit to the Netherlands in 1982. Middleton then wore the same piece when she attended the Queen and Prince Philip's 70th wedding anniversary party in 2017.

Meanwhile, the earrings Middleton wore were originally given to the Queen by the Hakim of Bahrain as a wedding gift following her nuptials to Prince Philip in 1947. The accessories comprise a large round diamond with a smaller circle diamond hanging below it. Three baguette diamonds hang from there, with three more small diamonds making way to the dangling pearl.

This was not the first time the duchess had worn the piece. She also sported the sentimental earrings on several occasions in the past, including the Remembrance Day service in 2016, just a year after the monarch opted to wear them for the same event.

Meanwhile, Prince William earlier paid tribute to his grandfather and thanked the Duke of Edinburgh for his presence in his life as well as how kind he had been to his wife and his children.

"I will always be grateful that my wife had so many years to get to know my grandfather and for the kindness he showed her. I will never take for granted the special memories my children will always have of their great-grandpa coming to collect them in his carriage and seeing for themselves his infectious sense of adventure as well as his mischievous sense of humor!" Prince William wrote.

Prince William and his wife reunited with Prince Harry during Prince Philip's funeral service and were spotted chatting with the Duke of Sussex following the ceremony.
