Kate Middleton and Prince William’s marriage is one of the best.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be celebrating their eighth wedding anniversary this month. Just weeks ahead of the event, we looked back at why Prince William and Middleton’s marriage continues to work.

In 2011, Allison Pearson wrote an article about the couple saying that Prince William and the country are lucky to have Middleton. A source pointed out the reason to Pearson.

“The best royal marriages are when the consort keeps her head down,” one member of the royal circle said.

Prince William and Middleton aren’t as tactile as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The couple is rarely seen holding hands or touching each other in public especially during royal engagements. However, both have nothing but love for each other.

During their engagement interview, the future king and queen consort shared a glimpse of their relationship. According to the royal mom of three, Prince William takes good care of her.

“You know, over the years William has looked after me, he's treated me very well – as the loving boyfriend he is, he is very supportive of me through the good times and also through the bad times,” Middleton said.

In 2011 during their tour in Cana, Middleton once again praised her husband. According to her, she’s so lucky because Prince William “looks after me as much as possible.”

Prince William admitted that in the early days of their courtship, he tried to impress Middleton with his cooking skills but it didn’t work. The heir confessed that he would burn or spill something with Middleton trying to help and basically ending up taking control of the whole situation.

Prince Harry’s brother received great support from Middleton. In the same interview, Prince William said, “I was quite glad she was there at the time.”

In related news, there were rumors that Prince William cheated on Middleton with their friend Rose Hanbury. The speculations gained mixed reactions from the royal fans. A number believed and some didn’t.

According to one netizen on Twitter, the Duke of Cambridge is “much happier” with Middleton around. A video of the couple staring and smiling at each other has resurfaced with another user saying she doesn’t see Prince William’s “cheerful side” in public when his wife is not around.
