Kate Middleton's sister Pippa Middleton is engaged to her boyfriend James Matthews, media reports said Monday. The news about Pippa's engagement comes amid several rumors about her and Prince Harry.

Pippa and James were briefly linked together in 2012. The dating rumors faded but again resurfaced last year. The two have been spotted together on several occasions and rumors also surfaced in April that the two may have moved in together.

According to new reports, James got down on one knee to propose to Pippa who said "yes." The wedding is rumored to take place by next year.

A source told Daily Mail that James took the permission of Pippa's father before popping the question to the 32-year-old.

"James is a traditionalist and very much wanted to do things properly. That meant getting his future father in law’s consent," the source close to the couple said.

Another source reportedly said that Pippa's parents "are very happy. They like James and they are sure he will make Pippa very happy."

According to E! News, James is a sports enthusiast and had also been photographed skiing next to Pippa at the Birkebeiner ski race in Norway.

James, who is a hedge fund manager, shares his name with Pippa and Kate's brother, James Middleton. Pippa's fiancé is the CEO of Eden Rock Capital Management Group.

He studied in the same school as Prince William and Prince Harry -- Eton College, an English boys' independent boarding school in Windsor, England.

James' brother Spencer Matthews is a reality TV star and was part of London's "Made in Chelsea."
