Kim Kardashian has spoken about her October armed robbery at her Paris apartment at length, as well as the good and the bad that’s manifested in the aftermath of the event. One particular way she’s said she feels the event has changed her for the better is in her relationship with her children, and the mother of two recently shared a gift she carries with her everywhere that was given to her prior to the event.

Kim Kardashian revealed that she had anxiety prior to her trip to Paris, fearing a terrorist attack amid a string of violent attacks on the city, according to Allure’s profile of the star published Monday. Her unease about the trip was so great, in fact, that she claimed she visited a therapist ahead of the trip. According to the KKW Beauty founder, her anxiety about visiting Paris last year was unlike anything she’d experienced before.

Her 4-year-old daughter, North West, seemed to pick up on her mother’s unease and gifted her with something to “keep [her] safe” when she was away on her trip.

“She gave me a little plastic treasure box, and she put her little jewels in it — like fake little plastic jewels — and she was like, ‘Mommy, this will keep you safe when you go to Paris,’” the 36-year-old reality star said.

“To have something really sweet like that is more important to me than all the jewelry,” she added, noting that she took it with her everywhere even still.

The event was documented at length during Season 13 of the family’s eponymous E! series “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” on which Kim Kardashian revealed details about the case, her recovery and the stresses of the legal process after the men who attacked her were captured. It’s an event that her younger sister Khloé Kardashian said recently the family should have never filmed.

“Not every episode is juicy to us; it’s only juicy to the audience,” she wrote in Glamour earlier this month. “Things like Kim’s robbery or Caitlyn’s transition? That’s the kind of stuff we wish we had never filmed. We aren’t ever like, ‘Oooh! Let’s do this for season nine.’ This is our life, and these are the things that happen.”

For her part, Kim Kardashian told friends in a segment on the reality series that it could be as many as 10 years before she returns to the French city. Speaking with some of her closest confidants, who asked whether a return would be possible, she replied, “Not anytime soon — like 5, 6, 7, 10 years. I don’t want to go anytime soon.”

She recalled a conversation with her daughter during which she asked if they would soon visit Paris. Kim Kardashian told friends, “It would be so hard. But I will do it for her.”

But the star did maintain that she felt the event changed her for the better during an interview on “Ellen,” her first public interview after her months-long hiatus following the event.

“It was probably no secret, you see it on the show when I was being flashy. I was definitely materialistic before,” she told Ellen DeGeneres in April. “Not that there’s anything bad with having things and working hard to get those things. I’m really proud of everyone around me who’s successful, but I’m so happy that my kids get this me and that this is who is raising my kids. I just don’t care about that stuff anymore.”
