Kardashian-Jenner matriarch Kris Jenner said Saturday she was surprised to wake up to the media firestorm over news that her daughter Kylie Jenner, 20, and rapper Travis Scott, 25, were expecting their first child together. The momager gave her first interview since news of the pregnancy broke Friday evening, but she neither confirmed nor denied the baby rumors.

Kris Jenner was front row at the Bottega Veneta show during Milan Fashion Week at which Kendall Jenner, 21, was modeling. The 61-year-old manager told The Cut that she does think the response to the news is “kind of wild” given the fact that neither Scott nor Kylie Jenner has publicly confirmed the pregnancy.

“[Kylie Jenner has] not confirmed anything,” she said. “I think it’s kind of wild that everyone is just assuming that that’s just happening.”

Asked whether she knew the news was going to break, Kris Jenner responded: “Something happens every single day. You never know what is going to break at any moment.”

The lip kit mogul and rapper have been dating since spring of this year. TMZ first reported that the couple was expecting a child, adding that Kylie Jenner informed friends and family of the pregnancy earlier this month at Day N Night Fest in Anaheim, California, at which Scott was performing. The gossip site added that the rapper “was at a recent event telling people about the pregnancy and how his life was going to change.”

Several other media outlets appeared to corroborate the claim and reported that insiders confirmed the news.

“Two sources close to the ‘overjoyed’ family tell CNN that Kylie Jenner, 20, is pregnant and due in February,” CNN reported Saturday. Both TMZ and Page Six reported that Travis and Kylie Jenner were expecting a baby girl. Multiple sources reportedly told People the same.

“It is an unexpected but completely amazing turn of events that she could not be more excited or thrilled about,” a source told People of the news.

“Everyone is overjoyed for her,” the unnamed insider added. “This is the happiest she’s ever been.”
