  • Kylie Jenner made it clear that Samuel Rauda is not her personal makeup artist
  • Jenner said she worked with Rauda a few years ago but no longer has a "personal relationship" with him
  • Her statement came after she faced backlash for asking fans to donate to his GoFundMe campaign

Kylie Jenner is speaking out amid claims that she is asking fans to pay for her own makeup artist's hospital bills, clarifying that she no longer has a personal or professional relationship with Samuel Rauda.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star was criticized on social media last week for asking fans to donate to a GoFundMe page for the celebrity makeup artist, who many believed was a close friend of Jenner. Rauda had gotten injured in a car accident on March 14, and a campaign was started to help him pay for his medical expenses.

Social media users called out the Kylie Cosmetics mogul after she shared the page on her Instagram Stories, insisting that Jenner could afford to pay her "friend" and "personal makeup artist's" life-saving medical fees. Now, the 23-year-old reality star has addressed the criticism and clarified her connection with Rauda.

"I feel it's important for me to clear up this false narrative that i've asked fans for money and am not paying for my makeup artist's medical bills," she wrote on her Instagram Story Monday. "Sam isn't my makeup artist and unfortunately we don't have a personal relationship anymore but i have worked with him a few years ago and think he's the sweetest."

Jenner said she came across her makeup artist Ariel's post about Rauda's accident and immediately reached out to her. After learning about Rauda's condition, the "Life of Kylie" star visited his GoFundMe page, which was set at $10,000 at the time.

"They had already raised 6k so i put it in 5k to reach their original goal and thought i'd post on my stories to gain more awareness if anyone also felt compelled to share or donate. I don't know how all of this got so twisted but his family has reached out through Ariel and are very appreciative of all the donations, prayers, and love towards Sam," Jenner explained.

"Anyone that knows me knows that I do things from the heart and I try to be helpful whenever I can be. Let's all stay positive and keep Sam, his family, and anyone you know who is going through a difficult time in our prayers. I hope you have a beautiful day and let's encourage each others to help," she concluded.

Rauda underwent surgery on Sunday, and the procedure cost $60,000. He still has a long road to recovery, and the donations will help cover the cost of his medical expenses and what’s to come. At present, the GoFundMe page set up for Rauda has already received $99,700 in donations, with a goal of $120,000.
