Kylie Jenner, who was spotted at the Met Gala 2022 in a white gown from late designer Virgil Abloh's line, topped off with a baseball hat on backward and a delicate birdcage veil. However, the media personality was actually in two minds about attending the high-fashion event in the first place.

In a video posted to her YouTube channel, the 24-year-old makeup mogul revealed what really got her to attend the annual event at the last minute.

"I was like, unless I can honor Virgil, and Shannon would want me to go, and I would wear Off-White, then that's the only reason I would go today, to honor him," Kylie said of the late designer, Virgil Abloh, and his wife, Shannon. Virgil, the founder of Off-White, died in 2021 due to cancer. He was 41 at the time of his death.

"I feel like I was supposed to go with Off-White because Virgil and I talked about this for the last two years. I was supposed to go with him in 2020 so it feels right that my Met come back I'm going with Off-White for sure," she said. "It also puts off the pressure of what people think about my look because I love it so much. It's so much more special to me that I don't care what people think. It's very special."

"I've already cried a few times. I actually can't talk about it until the day is over because I'm gonna cry about it," an emotional Jenner continued.

Meanwhile, it seemed like Shannon was all for Jenner attending the event, as the late designer's wife delivered a bouquet of flowers to the reality tv star.

"Kylie, You are going to be amazingly perfect tonight. He will be with you guiding you up the stairs. We all know he never missed a party," read a note from Shannon.

The look, in itself, was completely a different one from Jenner's red carpet appearances over the years, but she had a very good reason for that, too.

"I wanted to do something big this year. Every year I've basically worn some type of tight mermaid dress, so this year I wanted to wear something big, do something different," she explained.
