Kylie Jenner was "so sad" she couldn't make it to the 2021 Met Gala.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" alum — who is expecting her second baby with Travis Scott — took to her Instagram Story Monday to confirm that she won't be attending the anticipated return of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Benefit.

The 24-year-old makeup mogul instead shared a series of throwback photos of her previous Met Gala red carpet looks — Balmain in 2017, Versace in 2017, Alexander Wang in 2018 and Versace, again, in 2019.

"I'm so sad I couldn't make it this year. I can't wait to see all the looks," Jenner wrote.

Fans and followers of Jenner expressed their disappointment over her absence.

"She’s one of the few that always serves, and she’s not even going," one fan commented.

"This is about to be the worst Met Gala… Is nobody going?" another wrote with a crying emoji.

Other social media users were also disappointed when Rihanna, Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Bella Hadid, Blake Lively, Lady Gaga and Zendaya did not show up on the red carpet. However, Rihanna was only fashionably late and later appeared with boyfriend A$AP Rocky.

Jenner did not explain why she was skipping this year's Met Gala. However, she confirmed last week that she and Travis Scott, who are already parents to daughter Stormi, are expecting their second child together. She made the announcement by posting a heartwarming video documenting her pregnancy on Instagram.

Days after sharing the pregnancy news, Jenner showed off her bare baby bump during New York Fashion Week.

She visited the Revolve Gallery where she turned heads in a bright orange trench coat, low-rise jeans, and a tied top that put her stomach on full display. The makeup mogul completed her look with a Louis Vuitton handbag, pointed yellow heels and gold jewelry.

Jenner was in "really good spirits" during the sighting, an unnamed source told E! News. According to the tipster, she was spotted talking to Revolve's chief brand officer Raissa Gerona, who congratulated her on her second pregnancy.

"Kylie loves fashion and was very excited to see young emerging brands that wouldn't normally be able to show," the source added. "Kylie was gracious and she and Raissa chatted about it a bit."
