Lane Kiffin is earning millions each year as coach of the University of Mississippi's football team Ole Miss Rebels. Here's how much he's set to make this year.

Kiffin was handed a new contract in January after a successful first season with the Rebels, ESPN reported.

The original deal Kiffin signed in 2019 was for four years and was worth $16.2 million. He was paid $3.9 million for the 2020 season and would have received an extra $100,000 every year until 2023, when he was set to make $4.2 million.

However, the 46-year-old college football coach's new contract came with a massive raise, the Clarion Ledger reported, citing documents it obtained.

Kiffin is set to receive $4.5 million this year for coaching the Rebels with a $500,000 retention bonus if he is still the team’s coach on Dec. 31, according to the docs. Under the new deal, the coach’s salary will grow every year, with payouts of $5.25 million in 2022, $5.5 million in 2023 and $5.75 million in 2024.

Kiffin’s bonuses on his new contract are the same as those in the first agreement, the outlet noted. He will still get a $150,000 bonus for every Southeastern Conference (SEC) win starting from the fifth season and a $100,000 incentive for any regular-season victory over a Power Five non-conference team.

The Nebraska native will receive another $150,000 if Ole Miss makes the SEC championship game and $400,000 if the team wins it.

Kiffin has opportunities to earn incentives based on the Rebels’ performance in specific bowl games.

If the team makes the New Year’s Six access bowl, the coach would get a $250,000 bonus. Kiffin would get $500,000 if the Rebels make the College Football Playoff (CFP) semifinals, $750,000 if they make the CFP championship and $1 million if the team wins the championship.

Kiffin was the no. 34 highest-paid college football coach in 2020, according to USA Today Sports' college coach salary database. His rank is expected to rise this year with the pay raise he received.

Kiffin made more than $12 million from 2012 to 2020, which includes his coaching stints with the University of Southern California and Florida Atlantic University, according to the outlet. He is currently worth an estimated $6 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Kiffin started out as a football player and was the quarterback at Fresno State from 1994 to 1996. He transitioned to a coaching position in the school in 1997.

In 2007, he got his first head coaching job with the Oakland Raiders, becoming the youngest coach in NFL history. He returned to college football not long after.
