Taylor Swift could find herself partnering with Police Sergeant Olivia Benson in an upcoming episode of “Law And Order: SVU.” Mariska Hargitay, who stars on the NBC show as Benson, teased in an interview that her new gal pal, who named one of her cats after the TV character, is in talks to join the series in a guest role for its 17th season.

“We just talked about it,” Hargitay told Entertainment Tonight. “We’re going to wait until the end of the [‘1989’] tour to see how it goes. But it’s in the air.” If Swift does land a role on the upcoming season of “Law And Order: SVU,” the “Blank Space” singer will join other stars slated to appear, like Adrienne Moore (“Orange Is The New Black”), Virginia Madsen ("Witches of East End"), Dallas Roberts ("The Good Wife") and Elizabeth Marvel ("Person of Interest").

As previously reported, in the two-hour season premiere Roberts will reprise his villainous role as Dr. Greg Yates, a serial killer first introduced in April during the “Law And Order: SVU,” Chicago P.D.” and “Chicago Fire” crossover special. This new season will also continue to rip some of its storylines straight from the headlines, according to E! Online. One upcoming episode will tackle the alleged Robert Durst killings featured in the 10-part HBO documentary, “The Jinx.”

Joining Hargitay in the Season 17 cast is Ice-T as Detective Odafin Tutuola, Peter Scanavino as Detective Dominick "Sonny" Carisi, Kelli Giddish as Detective Amanda Rollins and Raúl Esparza as Rafael Barba. “Law And Order: SVU” Season 17 premieres Wednesday, Sept. 23 on NBC.
