It's been over a month since Harry Styles hosted "Saturday Night Live," but that hasn't stopped people from still talking about it. More specifically, a certain joke he made about his former One Direction bandmate, Zayn Malik. So, it's no surprise that when Liam Payne, also a member of 1D, appeared on "Watch What Happens Live" on Thursday, a fan took advantage of the opportunity to get his opinion.

"What was your reaction...?" the caller asked.

"I think it’s just a funny joke, at the end of the day," Liam explained. "Obviously, Zayn’s circumstances for leaving [the group] were his own. It’s a different situation for all of us and I suppose we deal with it in a different way. I thought it was quite funny."

As a reminder, the comment Styles made occurred when he hosted "Saturday Night Live" on Nov. 16. During his opening monologue, the performer delivered a joke about Zayn, who was the first to leave the group, while playing the piano.

"I love those guys [from 1D]," Styles admitted. "They’re my brothers. Niall [Horan], Liam, Louis [Tomlinson] and….mmm…oh! Ringo!"

For the record, Ringo Starr was the first member to leave The Beatles much like how Zayn left One Direction.

One Direction was a popular English boy-band that formed when each of the members appeared on "The X Factor" in 2010. They released five globally successful albums before announcing their "indefinite hiatus" in 2016.

Since the split, each member has gone on to pursue solo work, which was Liam's reasoning behind his "WWHL" appearance. The 26-year-old released his debut album, LP1, on Dec. 6.
