  • Jude Bellingham is in contract with Dortmund until 2025
  • He is set to play at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday in the UCL
  • Bellingham has scored 2 goals so far this season

Jude Bellingham said he does not want to be "disrespectful" to Borussia Dortmund by discussing his future beyond the German club.

Bellingham, who moved from Birmingham City to Dortmund in 2020, has a contract with the Bundesliga side until 2025. Over the last three years, the young English player has established himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe by netting 12 goals and providing 18 assists in 98 competitive appearances for Dortmund.

While Bellingham was still at Championship club Birmingham City, a number of clubs were interested in securing him, including Manchester United. However, the young midfielder picked Dortmund in the summer of 2020.

Ahead of Dortmund's big Champions League fixture against Manchester City on Wednesday, Bellingham opened up on his future at the Signal Iduna Park.

"The club [Dortmund] have done loads for me and made me feel very welcome since I first came and gave me the opportunities to develop even further. To look past that and into the future would be disrespectful," Bellingham told reporters, according to reports.

Out of Bellingham's two goals this season, one came in the Champions League in Dortmund's 3-0 win over Copenhagen.

When reporters asked Bellingham if returning to England is one of his ambitions in the near future, the central midfielder replied, 'It's not something I am thinking about, to be honest."

Nevertheless, several English clubs will be eyeing Wednesday's fixture between Manchester City and Dortmund at Etihad Stadium. It is seen as a great stage for Bellingham to showcase his talent against a big club.

It is understood that Dortmund would be looking to accept offers for Bellingham next summer and the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United have a good chance of signing the talented midfielder.

Dortmund are known to develop players into top-class stars before selling them on for a big profit. They have done this previously with Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho. The duo is now in the Premier League. While Haaland joined Pep Guardiola's City, Sancho is at Manchester United.

Bellingham could follow them to England by linking up with Manchester United or Liverpool. However, whichever club is successful in spending big will win the race to secure the 19-year-old Bellingham, according to Fabrizio Romano. The transfer fee is expected be over $115 million.
