NBA’s reigning Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic could possibly become one of the most interesting players next season.

The Dallas Mavericks have managed to form another international team-up by signing Doncic and former Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis. As one of the new faces of the Mavs, Doncic appears to be one of the of the most sought-after players in the NBA.

By winning the Rookie of the Year award last season, Doncic indeed cemented his name as a future NBA star. But it seems that even the greatest players in the league are really excited to see how he will perform next season.

In a rare interview, Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant revealed that he will be watching out for Doncic-Porzingis tandem ahead of his return. Durant admitted that he is really baffled with what the two international stars can do for the Mavs.

“I’m looking forward to seeing them two come together. I think they’ve got something going down there,” Durant said.

Even the newly retired Dirk Nowitzki, who was the household name of the Mavs for a very long time, has expressed his desire to play with Doncic for a little longer. However, Nowitzki admitted that his body just told him that it’s time to call it a career.

Nowitzki is even convinced that Doncic is not only interesting as an NBA player but as a person as well. Just recently, Nowitzki revealed that he scouted Doncic to join his charity tennis event. After uncovering what happened during the recruitment, the 2011 NBA Finals MVP described what kind of person Doncic is.

According to Nowitzki, Doncic is an entertaining person inside and out, Dallas News reported.

“He's fun. As you guys have seen, he's an entertainer. He loves it at heart,” Nowitzki said about Doncic.

A few days ago, Sports Illustrated has ranked Luka Doncic at 30 in their top 100 players in the NBA this year, a ranking which was fair enough to conclude that Doncic is already an NBA star. However, some believe that being placed at 30 underrated Doncic’s overall package.

Meanwhile, Doncic vows to live up all the hype coming into next season. According to the young Mavs star, Dallas have to make the playoffs next year even if they will have to face certain challenges especially in the Western Conference.

“It’s going to be difficult. I think the West is much stronger than the East. It’s more difficult in the West, for sure. But we have to do our jobs, so we’ve got to make the playoffs,” Doncic said.
