Britney Spears has been spotted in public for the first time since she checked into a mental health facility earlier this month.

On Sunday, Spears was photographed with boyfriend Sam Asghari at The Montage hotel in Beverly Hills, Daily Mail reported. The 37-year-old singer's beau, whom she has been dating for over two years now, looked protective as Asghari stayed in front of Spears while they exited the lobby of the hotel near Rodeo Drive.

For their outing, Spears opted for a summery look, wearing a red off-the-shoulder sundress with sleeves that hugged her biceps and brown suede Birkenstocks. The pop princess also chose to go makeup-free and let her blonde locks fall freely in waves over her shoulders.

Meanwhile, her hunky boyfriend showed off his toned body in a fitted green, white and black long-sleeve shirt and red shorts. He completed his comfortable ensemble with a black leather baseball cap and army green trainers.

At one point, he held Spears' arm with one hand as he led her out of the hotel. The singers, on the other hand, carried several objects as made her way to her car, including a black leather bag, red Adidas trainers and a sweatshirt.

This is the first time Spears has been photographed in public since TMZ broke the news earlier this month that she had voluntarily entered a mental health facility. The pop star has reportedly been suffering mental strain and emotional distress amid her father Jamie's failing health.

Spear's father reportedly underwent two major surgeries for his colon and intestines. Despite this, Jamie reportedly continues to suffer health complications.

Prior to undergoing the 30-day treatment program, Spears had already postponed her Las Vegas shows in order to care for her father. According to TMZ, her two children, Sean, 13, and Jayden, 12, are staying with their father, Kevin Federline, if they are not being looked after by a caregiver at their mom's home.

As for why she sought treatment from the unspecified health facility, an insider told People that her father's condition "has taken a toll" on Spears, who now needed to "focus on herself."

"They're so close and it has been a lot. There is nothing dramatic going on with her - she just realized she needs to make sure to take time to care for herself," the source revealed.
