Less than two months remain before the release of “Maleficent 2.” The countdown for the movie continues on social media, and a new poster teases Angelina Jolie’s character with evil green eyes that should get the fans excited.

The official Instagram page of the film is counting down the days for the release date. Just 50 days remain before the movie hits the theatres.

The new motion poster of the film shows the deep green eyes and blood red lips of the Queen of the Moors. The horned characters teaser prompted fans to comment on the post and express their excitement.

After the huge success of the first film, expectations are high on the sequel. Many of the fans who commented on social media hope to see the upcoming movie to measure up to the first film.

The cast members of the film shared some details about the film at the D23 event. Apart from Jolie, the other main cast members Elle Fanning, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Michelle Pfeiffer took the stage to discuss the movie with the fans at the event.

A video clip of Jolie’s entrance at the D23 event has been shared online. The caption describes the entrance as “wicked.”

A previously released poster on Instagram shows all the major characters in the film. Jolie’s character looms over all the others in the picture.

The plot of the film revolves around Princess Aurora (Elle Fanning) getting engaged to Prince Phillip (Harris Dickinson), and the two of them preparing for the eventual marriage. While the two lovebirds have pure intentions, the future mother-in-law has sinister plans of her own that will lead to war.

“Maleficent 2” has been directed by Joachim Rønning, who is known for working on “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” The film will be released on Oct. 18.
